About

I’ve been eating for 25 years, so I’d like to think I’m pretty good at it by now.  I haven’t been drinking quite that long, but I’m definitely making up for lost time; you’ll usually find me double-fisting it at my favorite haunts.

I have a culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu and worked as a pastry cook/chef for a couple years before realizing that I hated being confined to a windowless kitchen for twelve hours a day earning poverty-level wages.

I rediscovered my love for writing when I started blogging for City of Ate, the Dallas Observer’s official food blog.  I also do some baking in my free time, which is pretty plentiful these days.

I created this blog to handle overflow; that is, things that are too wordy or in-depth for Facebook or Twitter, and too unrefined or too biased for City of Ate.

I might rave, I might rant, I might blather on self-indulgently about stuff that doesn’t interest anyone but me, but I’ll always be honest.
